Happy Labor Day!!!! We just got back from roughly 6 days in my hometown of Traverse City, MI. After such a crazy start at the beginning of August (my illness) and crazy ending (Uncle Ron's passing), we had a fun family filled time. Hopefully, September will be as normal..is there anything as normal?
Pete went to Uncle Ron's wake on Saturday, August 28th. I had to take the kids to Grand Rapids for my brother's engagement party. It was a long day. I got to Grand Rapids about 2:45pm(2 1/2 drive w/short break) and I was on the way home by 6:30pm. I don't like driving that much in one day, but my poor brother Pong came in from Chicago and spent 7hrs roundtrip in the car and only 3hrs at the party. My mom came back with me for an appointment she had in Detroit on Monday (Citizenship interview which she passed!). It worked out that my mom stayed with the kids on Sunday so Pete & I could go to the Uncle Ron's wake together and on Monday morning for the funeral. It was a really beautiful service. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
I have a lot of pictures I will post of the rest of the trip to TC, but it's getting late and I have other things to do!!!!!
