Just a quick update! Pete took Peter to his first Detroit Tiger's game last Sunday (9/23/07) and he had a great time. He was a little nervous at first because the seats were really high, but settled down when they found standing room seats instead closer to the field. He even got to run around on the bases after the game. Kiersten and I spent that time bonding as girls do...shopping. Yes, Kiersten ALREADY loves to shop.

Do we have to match?

Not to sure about heights....

Yesterday, Pete & I had a friend (a classmate's mother) babysit the kids for a few hours so we could have our monthly date. With Pete's busy schedule, its been hard to spend time together so we have to make time. We just went out to dinner and capped it off with dessert at Starbucks. The kids had a ton of fun & didn't miss us. Today (Sunday) we headed down to the Zoo. It was Adopt An Animal weekend where the MI Humane Society and other rescues come and set up at the zoo. We walked through, but we're not ready for a pet (I'd be the primary caretaker & George the hamster is enough for me right now) yet. We bought our Zoo membership good through December 2008 and hope to make lots of trips. The Zoo felt a bit desolate. There were lots of people, but perhaps it felt that way because its fall and most of the summer staff is gone. We don't usually go to the zoo in the fall, but they have events coming up like Zoo Boo in a few weeks that we'd like to participate in. The kids had a ton of fun and both fell asleep on the way home.

My camera battery decided it wanted to give me trouble, so no pics on this trip!

The beginning of Soccer 2 weeks ago when the weather was warm.
Peter right in the middle of the pics.
Kiersten strolling on the field with her little ball. She's got a great kick.

Peter to the left.
Bouncing around.

Our little princess.
Bouncing & hopping.

Onward to the farm & park. The horse to the left let me give her scratches on her nose.
Can we go play now?

The next day at the mall. Check out those pearly whites!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Our schedule has changed quite a bit now. Peter is in school 5 days a week so I feel like I'm always preparing for the next day. He has a new best friend everyday. Peter also started Saturday Soccer last weekend & is enjoying it very much (it'll run for a total of 6 weeks). He missed school 1 day already ) : after having perfect attendance in preschool. He must have gotten stung by a spider/insect on the side of his head and his poor eye swelled up. He has been on antibiotics as a precaution, but he never had any other weird symptoms.
Kiersten is 99% potty trained both in peeing & pooping. She has been waking up from her naps and overnight completely dry. She is in cute little underwear all day except for sleeping time so that has been great. She can even 'hold' it if we're in the car & still 10mins away from home. Potty training is hard & time consuming, but I'm happy we're pretty much there.

I don't know what's worse?! The fact that we gave up our Detroit Lion Season tickets for U of M Football tickets or what! At least I don't feel so bad, I guess since the Lions tickets were much more expensive. The way MI is playing though, they deserve to lose, however, I understand that this is a different team than the past few years, but still. We still hate OSU with a passion though.

Peter's 1st day of Kindergarten

On our way to school! Opps, I had to adjust his superman backpack!
On his way into class.Stopping by the locker.
There are only about 5 or 6 boys in this class of 20. He'll appreciate it someday.
Peter reunited with 3 friends from preschool(girls) and 3 friends(boys) from his daycare.
He had a great day at school and is looking forward to tomorrow!

My mom & brother came into town for a quick visit Sunday thru Monday morning. It was a nice and quick visit, we had a little BBQ and just hung out as a family. They left Monday morning and we took advantage of the beauftiful day!We made it up the hill!
And down the hill we go!
Back up the hill we go
Down the hill again..not enough wind for the kite.
Played briefly in the playarea

Off to get lost in the mazeThen we changed into our swimsuits & played in the sprinkler area

We went back & played in the playarea afterwards, but there were so many wasps & bumblebees chasing us! We called it a day & headed home. Happy Labor Day!
