Our newest addition to the house is named George

Peter has been wanting a pet for some time, the issue is that he really can't take of a pet on his own yet & I have no desire to clean up after a dog or a cat. I'm already changing poopy diapers everyday!! So, we took some of his christmas money from his Uncles and went bought everything we needed for George. George is settling in, but he is crying a little bit right now. Peter has been staring at him for the past couple of hours and Kiersten is trying to be 'helpful' by feeding George and banging on his cage.

Crazy Hat Girl

This toy keeps showing up on the heads off my kids. Peter like to put this toy on his head as a baby too...why do we keep buying the expensive toys?

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a good time for us. Pete had the entire week off and we were able to spend time together as a family. Pete & Peter ended up not going to the Lion's football game (we knew we were going to lose & parking would have been tight & expensive due to the parade going on) so we were all at home. I cooked everything, turkey, potatoes, green beans, stuffing etc.... Peter had a tough time with the potatoes. Kiersten loved the turkey, stuffing, green beans and cranberry sauce. We headed up to Traverse City on Friday to see my family and had even more turkey...I am turkey-ed out! Goofing off while I cleaned up dinner!

Happy Turkey Day!

Hope all of you enjoy your holiday weekend! Eat a lot and be safe if you travel! We will have dinner at home on T Day, but will be traveling up to my parents on Friday for the weekend. We plan to eat a lot more there and get some christmas shopping done so the kids don't see their presents.
I took about 20 pics of the kids a few days ago for our christmas cards...these 2 were the best. I couldn't get Kiersten to stay still long enough in one place and she ended up getting very 'upset' with me, so we had to stop.

The best part about the U of M vs. OSU game....

Last night we got Kiersten to say "GO BLUE!" Of course, she can say a lot of words and phrases now. Congrats to OSU for winning and to both teams for playing a great game. Thanks for giving Pete an almost heart attack, but he survived this game. I actually slept through the first quarter and did laundry & cook dinner through parts of the 2nd, half time and 3rd quarter, but I did watch the 4th quarter.
Let's get our MI fans back to MI safely! We've got Bo to think about now!

Have a great weekend!

Today is just one of those days....dreary, cloudy and cold and at least it stopped raining. Today was the funeral service for a dear friend of the family (she was 80yrs old) and I couldn't make it because it was up in Traverse City, but we sent flowers and most of my family made it. Today Bo Schembechler passed away. Just last year, I repurchased(manufacturer buyback) his Lincoln Avaitor for Ford Motor Co and I thought it was the coolest thing, he is a celebrity here in MI.
Anywho, Hope everyone enjoys the game...be nice to each other...may the best team win!
I'm having a little bit of a difficult time with this whole new blogger beta thing. I think a few details are being worked out. Ex: I can't read any comments right now...

I'd rather stay in good ole MI & watch the game from home!

U of M Email Offers Safety Suggestions to Football Fans
By 7 Action News TeamWeb produced by Seth MyersNovember 14, 2006

In an email sent to the University of Michigan community Monday night, the school’s Dean of Students, alumni director and student body president urged football fans to be safe as they head to Saturday’s Ohio State game. The email invited students of an official tailgate being put on by the university. The event will be held at the Ohio State University Fawcett Center, near Ohio Stadium, where the game will be played. The university email urges Michigan students to carpool in cars without Michigan license plates. It also offers these safety suggestions:

--Try carpooling to the game; if possible, drive a car with non- Michigan license plates.
--Keep your Michigan gear to a minimum, or wait until you are inside the stadium to display it.
--Stay with a group.
--Know and obey the laws regarding alcohol use.
--If you are of legal age to drink, use alcohol in moderation. Stay in the blue.
--Stay low-key; don't draw unnecessary attention to yourself.
--If verbally harrassed by opposing fans, don't take the bait.
--Avoid High Street in Columbus.

If at any time you feel unsafe, you should call 9-1-1 for assistance. U-M campus police also will be available in Columbus to support our fans. You may call them with non-emergency concerns at (734) 216-9159.
We've been pretty busy the past week or so! I will probably not post or load any pics until after Thanksgiving. Peter went to his first football game last Sunday with Dad (Detroit Lions) and he really enjoyed himself. They are going to go to the Thanksgiving game next week. Pete spent yesterday afternoon with Peter at preschool as the 'snack & stay' parent and I heard they had a great time! I have been working on christmas cards & lists so I can get them mailed out by the second week of December. We are also getting our family holiday picture done this Sunday, hopefully Kiersten will not flip out (she just doesn't like Sears) since we'll all be in the picture together. Pete is off on Friday through the entire Thanksgiving week so it'll be different to have him around that much. Trust me, I love him to death, but the kids and I have such a great routine going that when dad is home, it can become pure chaos!!!! Anywho, we will be spending part of the holiday traveling up to Traverse City to spend it with my family & I hope the weather behaves. I don't like winter traveling....be safe to all those who have to travel this holiday!
This Saturday, we will be looking forward to an overconfident OSU lose to our Michigan Football team!!!!! GO BLUE!!!!!!!

Halloween

This is the first year we've trick or treated. Peter was only a baby his first Halloween and not to mention sick (we wouldn't have gone out anyway). We spent the first 3 halloweens at his daycare halloween party which was the safest way for us to go. Last year, Kiersten was a baby and the weather was pretty icky (as far as I can remember). This year, the weather agreed with us and we felt the kids were old enough to experience it a little bit. Peter decked out in a spiderman outfit (with 4 layers underneath, why he looks lumpy). Kiersten was a unicorn and was so cute until we put the hood on, she didn't like the hood plus she also had 4 layers on and felt pretty uncomfy. We just went to 2 of our neighbors homes and the street next to us and went to about 5-6 homes. The kids got almost half a bucket each though none of us have a sweet tooth, just the occasional craving. It was fun and we were only out for 20 mins.

Here I am trying to get her to stay still and happy long enough for a pic. She was trying to tear her hood off.

Here's a pic of the backside. Dad carried her the whole time b/c we didn't want her walking outside. Kiersten hung onto her bucket the entire time like her life depended on it.

The goods!

Sunday & Monday

Sunday, we carved our pumpkins. The kids really got into it and Kiersten loved trying to eat raw pumpkin. She would take a nibble, spit it out & make the cutest little 'yucky' face, but she kept doing it over and over.

Kiersten has this crazy smile. We're working on her keeping her eyes open.

On Monday, we joined the A.M. preschool class for a field trip out to Spicer Orchards (which happens to be the orchard we go to). Since we didn't know any A.M. kids or their parents, Peter's little class kinda stuck together(though only 5 of the 8 kids were able to come). It was a beautiful & perfect 66 degree weather day. I wish we had more days like this coming.

Kiersten found her perfect little pumpkin. She's pratically an honorary member of the afternoon 4yr old preschool class. All the kids spend time with her.

Peter found his pumpkin.

Riding the wagon back to the farm for snack time!

Fresh warm doughnuts & cider about to be served.
Playtime! Hanging out with Sylvia.

Kiersten hanging out with Jenna.
Gotta get in some tractor riding time!
