The Good, the Bad and just a little worried.....

The good news is that my visit to the endocrinologist yesterday seemed to go well. Dr. Garcia paid more attention to the kids which I took as a positive thing. He checked my thyroid and my heartbeat and both seemed okay. We're just waiting for the bloodwork to come back to see what really happened and I'm pretty sure I won't need a second dose of radiation. I should just be getting a prescription for my thyroid supplement soon! Yeah, meds for the rest of my life and another doctor to see for the rest of my life!

The bad news is that I have gained roughly 7lbs in the past 2 months and the holidays are coming up!!! I have never held back on holiday foods so this will be hard for me. It took me a full year to lose what I gained during my pregnancy with Kiersten and it was very hard even with the nursing. Once I get on the thyroid meds, my weight should go back to 'normal' and I have to remember that it can take about 6 months for my metabolism to work itself out again. Have to make time to go walking, jogging, do situps and crunches...also eat healthy!!!!!!
Just a little worried that when we try for our third (and final) child, it may be difficult to conceive with the whole thyroid issue. Though I know people do get pregnant, it can be a bit more difficult. We know we are blessed to have 2 healthy children and would be happy with just 2 if we don't get pregnant again. I have a slight timeline where I want to have our 3rd by age 30 (I'm 28) since we already have 2. I don't want them too far apart because I want to work on my MBA and get back into the workforce at some point in some sort of capacity. I won't stress out about it. However, Pete & I are trying to figure out when to start trying and if we do get pregnant, we decided not to find out the sex like we did with Peter & Kiersten. We figured since we have a boy & a girl, we have enough to get started whether the new baby is a boy or a girl. Besides the fact that my brother has already given me Dianne's infant car seat (it's grey), 2 bases and the stroller to follow next year!

Good luck with the medication and I'll be keeping you in my prayers... in hopes that you conceive and carry a healthy baby #3!
