Sad, terrible and heartbreaking weekend.

I am back from the 3 funeral services this weekend. It was a very large affair with 300+ family and friends from MI, IL, OH, IN, WI & MN all drove here late Friday in order to make it for the services for the 3boys. Many kids and teachers from the high school also came to pay their respect. The families had the service for all three boys together and the boys are buried side by side from oldest to youngest.
My family is especially close to one of the families though we knew everyone involved. Davy Koumliene was like one of my little brothers and we all hung out last month at Peter's 4th b-day party. Before we left TC, Pete & I visited the Memorial site and the gravesite again.
The driver of the vehicle that all the boys were in has been charge, picked up Saturday and is now sitting in jail.
"Just after three o'clock Friday afternoon the Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Al Schneider issued seven charges against the driver of the car, 17 year old Justin Nguyen based on eye witness reports of the accident. Three teen boys were killed in the crash, 16 year old Phougheune Siphengphet, who was a student at Traverse City Central High School; 16 year old Davy Koumliene was also a Central High School student; and 17 year old Dath Keovongkoth who was a student at Traverse City's Alternative High School. The accident happened around 3:30 Thursday afternoon on South Airport Road between Barlow Road and Garfield Avenue. The charges Nguyen is facing include three counts of operating a vehicle without a license causing death. Three counts of negligent homicide. And one count of operating a vehicle with alcohol in his system. Sheriff's deputies say the car with five teens inside went into oncoming traffic when it crashed into a truck. There were four boys and one girl in the car. Three of the boys died. The two other teens in the car, including the driver, were taken to the hospital. Justin Nguyen is still hospitalized at this time. 17 year old Bao Nguyen, who was a passenger in the car was released from the hospital last night. The Sheriff asks anyone else who may have witnessed the accident contact the department."
